Once a truck or trailer pulls away from a cleanout, most people don't think much more about where everything ends up — but it's a fair question. The short answer: usable items get separated out where possible, and the rest goes to the appropriate disposal facility.
Furniture and household items in decent shape are often good candidates for donation rather than the dump, which cuts down on waste when it makes sense. Everything else — general junk, debris, and non-donatable items — gets hauled to the proper disposal site.
